How Things Work

This a great explanation of how a differential works. Produced by Chevrolet in the 1930's back, you know when they could build cars. Why is it that we have to go back to the 30's to get really good and simple explanations of how (mechanical) things work?

And on a related note Physicist Richard Feynman explains how a train stays on the tracks and makes turns with out a differential.

It Worked!

Some how I got a piece of 3/4 plywood, piece of 1/2 plywood, aluminum channel and a handful of clamps to function as a bench break.

It's not a perfict fold but after I bolt, rivet, weld and what ever else I do to it it will look good.
It may need some time with the rubber mallet.

When I'm done the tailgate of my old truck will be a nice bench.

Fixing the shop floor.

The garage floor was in pretty bad shape but two sledge hammers and sixteen bags of concrete later... much better.

I scored the floor with a masonry cutting wheel on my 4.5'  angle grinder and it broke of nicely with the sledge hammer... except for the spot where the concrete was 15" deep.
