wood turning round 1

I finally fired up the wood lathe today.
I sharpened my chisels, started turning and I realized that the previous owner of the lathe had the pulley on the motor mounted wrong, so fixed that.
I put laminated MDF on the lathe to see how it would spin. The stuff turns well.
The finish was smooth, but working it is like standing in a dust collector.

I have been gluing up all kinds of scrap from the shop as a way to start. I have some plywood, MDF, and OSB waiting to go on the lathe. I am interested to see how the OSB turns out.

I have two blanks about the same size. I'm thinking a lacquer finish on them.
